This year comes on with all the force, and all the drama of a tiger. It is a perfect fit, too, because this Year of the Tiger will demonstrate very large changes. The New Year began on Valentine’s Day, and all of these things will come into play. We don’t know how it will turn out, but we can guess. She wants me to keep in mind that everything is negotiable, and everything that we decide can be reconsidered, if it becomes clear that the one true path is not as true as it looked from afar. This is the time when things are not what they seem, and can’t be decided until we can see them when they are sleeping.
We might, however, find ourselves learning the next part of our romantic cycle from the inside of a Chinese restaurant. Singapore is lovely most any time of year, and the city-state is built for travelers, it seems, or at least it is particularly welcoming for those who come when they are in love. I want to ask the Tiger if we will be in love for the entire year, and if there is a year beyond this one. All this is to say, I want to know where this is going. But the tiger is a year, and the way a year speaks is by unfolding, week by week, and you can’t ask it to skip ahead.
Time understands itself, however, and maddeningly is always assuming that everyone else has the language and thought to understand it too. I am not stuck in any particular moment, but am becoming very fond of the present one. A day can sometimes determine a future faster than a year, even if that year is a Tiger. The year might be asking me to move too quickly, to plan a wedding before the first kiss, but the day will always open up to tell us both that everything we ever wanted is possible in this moment, and no other moment.

When most people think of Miami, luxury hotels on South Beach may be what comes to mind. I myself, do like luxury hotels, but South Beach is just not my cup of tea. Last summer I drove to Orlando for a two week visit with an old friend. I had read a Florida travel book, and so when he suggested we take a few days and head to Miami I was up for it. I told him though, that if I agreed to sport a bikini on South Beach, he must agree to take me to the Miami Metro Zoo. The climate and the weather of the city, is such that they are able to house various species from countries such as Africa, Australia, and Asia. Many animals that I had never seen live and up close before.
The Miami Metro Zoo is notable for many other reasons as well. It was one of the country’s first open/free-range zoos. All of the animals in every exhibit remain cage-free. The curators of the zoo have animals of various species living together, just as they would be doing were they in their homelands. The various sections are separated not by fences but by moats. The landscaping is designed to resemble the Australian Outback or the jungles of Africa, and looking across the exhibits one gets the feel that they are actually on a safari in an exotic land.
Another section of the zoo is the “Wings of Asia” Aviary. This is an open air exhibit as well, the largest in the United States. More than three hundred rare and exotic birds are housed in the aviary. This is a great place for those who do love bird watching, and it is as informative as it is exquisite. The focus has been on the link between dinosaurs and birds, and how birds are closely related to the now extinct beasts of that era. So in one weekend, my friend was able to enjoy the wild life of South Beach, and true to his word he took me to the zoo so that I was able to enjoy the wildlife of the Miami Metro Zoo.

Having pets can be relaxing diversion to your daily routine. They have been proven to lower blood pressure and relieve depression. People have kept pets for ever forming a bond between animal and man. People keep pets of all variety from fish to birds, dogs and cats, snakes and lizards, rats and ferrets and many many more. Small pets like small rodents can be good for smaller children. They can learn what it is to be responsible and how to take care of an animal. These are good pets for apartment dwellers. People with houses and yards can have large dogs as these guys need room to run around and get their exercises. They also need to have a place to relieve themselves. Pets like dogs require you to be able to let them out or take them for a walk if they don;t have access to the outside on their own. Cats are nice as pets because they require little attention and pretty much take care of themselves. The down side is the litter box and cleaning it. This can put some people off to keeping cats at all because they don’t want to deal with it. An aquarium can make sentences when time is limited. Some people travel with their pets but you should check first cause some 5 star hotel won’t let pets in. Once a fish tank is set up right and the balance of fish ok there is only monthly cleaning that needs to be done other than daily feeding. Fish come in many sizes colors and prices so they can fit into many budgets. Small tanks take up little space and larger tanks need bigger room. Birds are fun pets they are very friendly and playful. They come in many sizes too so there is a size to fit anyone living space. There are so many different personalities among the breeds of birds careful selection is important. Some birds will require more attention. others special diets. Some birds need a lot of space because they are very active others need just enough to hang out and stretch their wings.
